Important Information for Closeout Items:
Closeout items are sold in their current state without the option for returns or exchanges. These products have been stored for at least 12 months and may exhibit alterations such as variances in listed warp, cracks, splits, and similar conditions. Please note that any discrepancies are not grounds for refunds or returns, and all sales of these items are considered final.
Dimensions : 39'' x 10'' inches
Product Dimensions:
Due to the natural edge look of most of our slabs, our dimensions are listed as "at the widest spot" or "at the longest spot" of the slab. Some slabs still have the bark attached, and the bark is included in our width dimensions if it is firmly attached.
Flatten Both Sides:
We use a CNC machine to flatten both sides, providing a level surface. Any taper or warping listed in the item description will reduce the thickness of the slab by the specified amount for each side.
Prepare Slab for Finishing:
This option includes flattening both sides on our CNC machine and finish sanding to 220 grit, ready for you to apply your own finish. Straight cuts may be fresh cut and squared up, potentially causing a length reduction. Please specify in your order notes if you do not want straight cuts changed.
Finish Slab:
Slabs are flattened on both sides using our CNC machine and finish sanded to 220 grit. Any taper or warping listed in the item description will reduce the thickness of the slab by the specified amount for each side. We then apply a finish based on the characteristics of the slab, choosing between our Commercial Grade Satin Finish Lacquer or Rubio Monocoat Natural Oil Finish. Straight cuts may be fresh cut and squared up, potentially causing a length reduction. Epoxy Wood Filler is not included. Please specify in your order notes if you do not want straight cuts changed or if you need cracks and voids filled. When Rubio Monocoat Oil Plus 2C is selected as the finish, the bottom/back side of the piece will be sealed with Satin Lacquer, and the top/sides will have the Rubio applied. Rubio can be applied to both sides upon request at an additional cost.
Caring for your Slabs & Wood Furniture:
Environmental Considerations: Furniture should be kept in controlled conditions with an optimal temperature ranging from 70 to 72 degrees Fahrenheit and roughly 30-50% relative humidity. Extreme temperature changes can cause materials to contract and expand, leading to movement, checking/cracking, and/or warping. None of these conditions are considered manufacturing defects, as wood is a natural, breathing element that responds to its environment.
Color Changes: Protect furniture from direct sunlight to prevent sun-fading or bleaching after prolonged exposure. Over time, there is a natural aging process, and the finished surface will undergo natural color changes.
Storing Wood Products: When storing a finished or unfinished piece of wood, ensure it has adequate support to stay flat, and there is good air flow to all sides of the piece. If left inside packaging or placed with one side on a blanket or other smothering surface for an extended period, the slab may move, resulting in bowing, cupping, twisting, and/or cracking.
