There is no single best choice for every room
The best wood species for a custom dining table depends on the slab available and the design you want. Start with your required length, width, seating arrangement and budget. A species name alone does not tell you whether a suitable slab is available or whether the finished table will fit your home.
Explore olive wood for individual character
Olive wood is our main material in Türkiye. We select pieces for their grain and natural contours and confirm the actual wood through photos before production. Some material comes from older trees, but the estimated age and source of an individual piece should be discussed separately. Small lighting slabs do not establish the availability of a full dining tabletop.
Compare a live edge walnut table with oak
If you are drawn to a live edge walnut table or an oak design, share reference images and your preferred tone. Ask for photographs of the actual candidate wood with the intended finish. Wood color can differ between pieces and lighting conditions, so choose from the material proposed for your project rather than treating a generic species photo as a promise.
Include construction in the conversation
Ask whether the design uses one slab, joined pieces or an epoxy layout. Confirm the usable surface, widest and narrowest points, finished thickness and base design. A natural edge has a different footprint from a straight-sided rectangle. Make sure the measurements describe how you will use the table, not just its largest overall dimensions.
Choose with your maker
Send dimensions in inches, seating needs and your preferred wood through our custom-order form. Walnut, oak and other species are requests subject to availability.
