Planning your custom wood chandelier
By Typhoon Wood Design · Updated October 5, 2026
A natural wood light starts with the room it belongs in. Gather these details before choosing your piece.

Start with the room
Measure the surface below the light and note its length and width in inches. Share a room photo and tell us whether the chandelier will sit above a dining table, kitchen island or open seating area.
Measure the ceiling and desired drop
Include ceiling height, whether the ceiling is flat or sloped, and your preferred distance from the ceiling to the lowest part of the fixture. A wood slab and hanging bulbs can have different overall drops. Ask your installer to review the location and mounting requirements.
Choose an available size
Select a listed inch option on the product page. Long slabs may be available up to approximately 55.1 × 9.8 inches (140 × 25 cm); availability and the natural edge determine the actual dimensions. A reference photo does not establish the size of the piece you will receive.
Settle the practical details
Before purchase, confirm the total weight, mounting hardware, suspension, electrical rating, bulb or light source, dimming compatibility and what is included. Our lighting specifications are being finalized; do not assume compatibility or certification from a photograph.
Approve your actual wood
Once checkout opens, payment is followed by photos and measurements of the proposed wood. Production starts after your approval. Keep the approved dimensions and photos with your order details.
